Course Overview

The Introduction to Hazardous Materials course teaches participants the essential skills needed to identify hazardous materials including how to handle, store, and respond to hazardous materials safely in the workplace.
Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) are present in every industry, including construction, manufacturing, laboratories, and healthcare. Mishandling hazardous materials can lead to workplace injuries, damage to the environment, and legal consequences.
This course teaches participants about the classification, labeling, and control of hazardous materials in handling hazardous materials in accordance to the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200 (Hazard Communication Standard) and the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) guidelines.
